Is the Qura'n God's word?

Islam is not the name of a unique religion presented for the first time by Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him who should, on that account be called the founder of Islam. In fact, Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him is the last and final messenger and Qur’an is the last and final scripture of God All-Mighty which was sent as an ultimate beacon of guidance for all humanity.

They are many reasons that prove Quran to be the word of God. Some of them are mentioned below:

1. Claim of the Quran

For any scripture to be considered divine and word of God it needs to make an implicit claim of its divine origin. There is no scripture on the face of the earth that makes such a claim other than the glorious Quran. It is mentioned in Surah Zumar Chapter 39 Verse 1.

The revelation of the Qur'an is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Any book is known by its revealer or author. Being apprised of the Divine Origin of Revelation of this Glorious Revealed Book and the fact that the Omniscience of God Almighty, the Omnipotent and the All-Wise, is the Origin of the Revelation of the Book allude to the Pure Divine Essence as the Origin of Revelation.

2. Challenges of the Quran

This Quraan is challenge from Allah to mankind and the jinn to produce anything like it, but they were unable to. Then He challenged them to produce only ten surahs like it, and they were unable to. Then He challenged them to produce something like the shortest surah in the Quraan, and they could not do it, even though those who were being challenged were the most eloquent and well-spoken of mankind, and the Quraan was revealed in their language. Yet despite that they stated that they were completely incapable of doing that. This challenge has remained down throughout history, but not one person has been able to produce anything like it. If this were the word of a human being, some people would have been able to produce something like it or close to it. There is a great deal of evidence for this challenge in the Quraan, for example, the verse of Surah al Israa Chapter 17 Verse 88:

Say: If the mankind and the jinn were together to produce the like of this Quraan, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another;

Allah says, challenging them to produce just ten surahs in Surah Hood Chapter 11 Verse 13:

Or they say, He (Prophet Muhammad) forged it (the Quraan). Say: Bring you then ten forged Surah (chapters) like unto it, and call whomsoever you can, other than Allah (to your help), if you speak the truth!

Allah says, challenging them to produce just one surah:

And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Quraan) to Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a Surah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful.

3. Quran is free of all contradictions and inconsistencies:

No matter how much knowledge and understanding mankind attains, they will still inevitably make mistakes, forget things or fall short. If the Quraan were not the word of Allah, there would be some contradictions and shortcomings in it, as Allah says in Surah an Nisa Chapter 4 Verse 82:

Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely, have found therein many a contradiction.

But it is free from any shortcoming, error or contradiction; indeed, all of it is wisdom, mercy and justice. Whoever thinks that there is any contradiction in it, that is because of his diseased thinking and mistaken understanding; if he refers to the scholars, they will explain to him what is correct and clear up the confusion for him, as Allah says in Surah al Fussilat Chapter 41 Verses 41-42:

Verily, those who disbelieved in the Reminder (i.e. the Quraan) when it came to them (shall receive the punishment). And verily, it is an honourable well-fortified respected Book (because it is Allah’s Speech, and He has protected it from corruption).

Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it, (it is) sent down by the All Wise, Worthy of all praise (Allah)

4. Language of the Quran

The language of the Quran is Arabic which is a living and inimitable language. It is a language which is widely spoken and understood around the globe by people of different backgrounds. It has the most extensive and precise grammatical and morphological system among the Semitic languages of the world. Allah says Surah an Nahl Chapter 16 Verse 103:

And We certainly know that they say, "It is only a human being who teaches the Prophet." The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this Qur'an is [in] a clear Arabic language.

Allah also says in Surah Fussilat Chapter 41 Verse 44:

And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur'an, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.

5. No Established Scientific Fact Contradicts with The Quran

The Qur'an is not a book of science but a book of 'signs', i.e., ayats. There are more than six thousand ‘signs’ in the Qur’an of which more than a thousand deal with science. Qur'an mentions several scientific facts that were unknown at the time of its revelation. Though there are many established scientific facts in the glorious Quran below is just one example from the field of embryology that describes the creation of human beings in the mother’s womb. Allah says in Surah Muminun Chapter 23 Verses 13-14:

Then We placed him as a sperm-drop1 in a firm lodging [i.e., the womb]

Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.
